Dee McClure

Body
Dee and her husband Brian make their home in the Grand Traverse Area of Michigan. Dee is an avid sailor with a background in one-design and PHRF racing. Now retired from commercial banking, during Michigan’s short summer she extensively cruises, quite often solo with her pups as “doghands”. She’s cruised Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, Lake Huron and the North Channel. Dee is an active member of the GLCC, most recently co-chairing the 2022 Annual Rendezvous in Mackinaw City and serves as Director of the Club. Recently moving from an Island Packet sailboat to a BackCove 372 powerboat appropriately named “Seaquel”, she fulfills her sailing appetite as crew on the non-profit schooners “Alliance” and “Inland Seas” which introduce school age children to sailing and the science of the Great Lakes. Dee holds a USCG 50 GRT Masters License, is a certified ASA Instructor, teaches boat handling courses and chairs the Vessel Safety Committee for the Grand Traverse Sail and Power Squadron.
