Edmund Fitzgerald Investigations

Body
Shipwreck researcher and diving enthusiast, Ric Mixter presents this stimulating webinar about the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald and his underwater visit to the Fitzgerald.

Ric is an energetic story teller who uses video like no other presenter can and was awarded the 2009 Award for Historic Interpretation by the Association for Great Lakes Maritime Historians. Ric uncovered new information about the sinking of the doomed Edmund Fitzgerald, which sank 50 years ago on November 10, 1975. Ric will share his interviews that include people who lost their lives building the largest freighter on the Great Lakes, an interview with Capt. Cooper who was on the freighter behind the Fitz and commentary by Coast Guard investigators in 1976.

One of only a handful of people who have visited the wreck personally, Ric dove 550 feet down in a tiny submarine, and has collected one of the largest film archives of Fitzgerald-related material during his 20 years researching the ship. Join us for this unique webinar to hear exclusive interviews, construction footage and the major expedition, visiting the wreck site.
